Kidderminster is a large town located in Worcestershire and is situated only 17 miles from Birmingham. It has two railway stations located only fifty metres from each other.  One of these is a national railway station going from Kidderminster to Worcester and London.  The other is a local station and is part of the Severn Valley Railway running to Bridgnorth.  Further details can be found by clicking this link

The Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal runs from just east of Stafford down to Stourport-on-Severn.  The canal passes through Kidderminster but bypasses Birmingham ensuring that it remains a rural feature to be enjoyed by travellers

Kidderminster is home to Kidderminster Harriers F.C. which was formed in 1886 and is the town’s professional football club. In 2000, as Conference Champions they reached The Football League and even now are Worcestershire’s only representative in this particular league. In 1994 the team beat Birmingham City in the FA cup but were denied promotion because the stadium had insufficient spectator capacity.

Kidderminster was once the carpet manufacturing centre of England but the industry has now declined considerably although there still remain some factories.
